Week 6

I'll be 6 weeks old on Labor Day. Time sure is flying.

This week has brought on more friends, both stuffed and real.

In the real realm, some of mom's colleagues came to visit. We first had the Grose family come by on Friday evening:


Tuesday brought Mom's boss, Max Loewenstein:


and Thursday brought mom's friend Rebecca and her new husband Richard. They are out visiting from Virginia where Rebeccca is a professor:


In the stuffed variety of friends:

Mortimer the Moose brought his friend Jaques the Peacock to the party. Elena has been getting acquainted with him by staring intently at Jaques:


Of course there is always Leon the Lion who has been a favorite for a while. He make tummy time bearable.

Time for an adventure outside of the house so mom doesn't go stir crazy. I take advantage of the time out to nap:

Just for full disclosure, there were more nursing , diapering, screaming, stretching and yawning episodes throughout the day that were not photographed. Here are some from other days. There also was diaper-free time, but this blog is not pornographic

1 month old

Week 4

Week 4 was a bit more subdued than the previous 3 weeks. We started out the week without any visitors. Elena got stuck hanging out with boring ol'mom.

luckily the last of the Acevedos came for an afternoon visit midweek. Tia Viviana came and got a nice cuddle from Elenita. Elena enjoyed it as Daniela had already told her what a great aunt Vivi is.


Gran and Grandad couldn't stay away from Elena. It had been almost 2 weeks since they had last seen her. So they came on Thursday for a short 24 hour visit, where they held and spoiled her to their hearts' content.



Then Auntie Pam came on Friday to visit. She came all the way from Michigan to meet Elena and stayed through Sunday. Mick and Jimmie are pretending Pam came to visit them.

Week 3

Week 3 was very exciting. Tia Maria came to visit and meet Elena. They had quite a bit of quality bonding time:





Mick and Jimmie bonded with Maria as well:

And spent quality time with her parents (including a trip to daddy's work for lunch):








We also had a visit for the Acevedo-Schiesels. Jimmie and Gabriel have known each other their whole lives. Families vacationed together. We expect adorable Daniela (age 4 months and 1 week) and Elena to be best friends.
