week 10

This week started out rough as well. I went to the pediatrician on Monday for my 2 month appointment. I was really liking her. She told me I was passing all my tests. I track really well, I focus like a 4 month old, I've gained weight nicely, etc. It was all positive...and then came the needles. I got 5 shots! This is a picture of me after my shots and after my parents had calmed me down. If you think I look pathetic, you should see what my mom looked like. She kept me company crying as well

On Wednesday, mom had to go to work for a meeting. She brought me along to show off. Sleeping on the job:

Sleeping on the dad:

On Saturday we went out to eat in Fremont. I was very tired:

but happy to spend time with my Uncle Huan:

Doing the Cabbage Patch

week 9

This has not been my best week.

It started out fine on Sunday. We went on a train ride in Niles canyon. It was on an old freight train. Daddy said it was awesome. I really don't know because i was nursing the entire time. I also did not like the big train whistle. but I should get many more chances to see the train and scenery as Daddy loved it and now wants to take all our guest with kids (and some without) on the train. My parents forgot to take pictures though.

After the train ride, we headed up to Oakland for a bbq at my good friend Daniela's house. She is also part of the 50% Chilean Club, like I am. There was another little boy there also part of the club. So now we are three. We are soliciting membership though. Just leave a message on teh blog comments and we will consider you...Sebastian, Isabelle, Lucas and Sofia y'all should start local chapters at your residences. Again my parents forgot to take pictures.

On Monday, Dad's car broke down, so that meant that mom and I were carless on Tuesday and Wednesday while his car got fixed. It didn'tr really matter though because i caught my first cold and we stayed close to home. Unfortunately, my mom remembered to take pictures during my illness:

Mom, please take me home and let me sleep. i don't feel well:

Oh, that's better:

Even sick, look how cute I am:

This week I started drooling and playing wth my saliva. I make great saliva bubbles. So this is your official warning. If you hold me, you will get wet...please wear wash-and-wear fabrics

Look how cute I am! I am not just a bully

Labor Day Week and Week 7

I hope everyone had a happy Labor Day Weekend and did not labor too much

We spent it in town where it was quite hot. Spent lots of time in the following position in the bedroom as it is the only room with air conditioning

Jimmie's good friend Kriss came to visit. She spent time with us in the bedroom too. We did go out to eat a couple of times:

She also bonded with Elena:

and was overstimulated by the play gym

This was a big week for Elena. We introduced teh bottle and the pacifier. She is still unsure about both of them

Luckily, she received a gift in the mail that she loves. We got our mobile for her bedroom set from Aunt Mary Jo, Mick's aunt. She loves staring at the animals

Lastly, Jimmie took her to work to show her off. Sue spent quite a bit of time having a conversation with her:

That's is all for this week

Week 6

I'll be 6 weeks old on Labor Day. Time sure is flying.

This week has brought on more friends, both stuffed and real.

In the real realm, some of mom's colleagues came to visit. We first had the Grose family come by on Friday evening:

Tuesday brought Mom's boss, Max Loewenstein:

and Thursday brought mom's friend Rebecca and her new husband Richard. They are out visiting from Virginia where Rebeccca is a professor:

In the stuffed variety of friends:

Mortimer the Moose brought his friend Jaques the Peacock to the party. Elena has been getting acquainted with him by staring intently at Jaques:

Of course there is always Leon the Lion who has been a favorite for a while. He make tummy time bearable.

All these new friends make Elena smile

Mom, why am I in the stroller? Shouldn't you be holding me?

A day in the life with mom

Peacefully sleeping:

Waking Up:

Breaking out of the swaddle...our own Houdini

After nursing, this is what Full looks like:

Time for a diaper change and weigh in (mom is neurotic):

Let's read a book:

Oh I am sleepy. Naptime

Waking up....I am a great stretcher. Stretches can last upwards of 5 minutes

Tummy time on the gym, which I hate:

Tummy time on the boppy...also not a fan:

Let's play on the gym...aerial view. I love the mirror

Mortimer the Moose, we meet again

Are you looking at me?

Mom, please feed me instead of taking pictures:

Time for an adventure outside of the house so mom doesn't go stir crazy. I take advantage of the time out to nap:

Our adventure today consisted of obtaining E's birth certificate:

Time for adventures with the bouncy chair and swing:

Dad should be home any minute now, so ends my exciting day with mom.

Just for full disclosure, there were more nursing , diapering, screaming, stretching and yawning episodes throughout the day that were not photographed. Here are some from other days. There also was diaper-free time, but this blog is not pornographic
